		<description>Willem --

It seems to me that the Riddling experience described here on the College website has the same meaning as what some call "conciousness expansion" or "pushing the envelope". Any thoughts on that connection?

Much like tearing a muscle will result in a stronger, larger muscle with improved stamina - the curiousity driven explorational voyages of these 'lightning thoughts' pass through the membranes of our supposed limitations until eventually all borders dissolve - our interior landscape becomes more akin to an endless mystical garden promising endless adventure than a fixed estate, with a neat lawn and a static building - the same plants year after year, the same kitchen, etc.

&#38; how do we cross these lines and forever erase the oppression of the habitual groove of the parameter bound lifestyle?

&#62;... This ability we must endeavor to develop.
&#62;
&#62; So, how to do it?

Well... I think everyone has their own philosophy (making them their own philosopher?) in relation to "acheivement"... I can offer a few basic observations based in the experiences of my brief lifetime. Also, I believe in the old saying "the acheivment is the journey", or something like that.

1. Do not submit to external authority. Quoting Joseph Campbell (perhaps incorrectly)- slay the dragon thou shalt.

Courage, that's important. Something might be growling beyond the door, your reflection might frighten you - but if your heart says make the leap it must be done all the same. Intuition, trusting onesself and the warnings and drives that one cannot explain. A bit of prudence, widsom, which one develops simply by acting and surviving. Deterimination, fierce &#38; complete determination, which means never saying "I want freedom, but I share that desire with the desire for money and comfort and a big bowl of this and a constant supply of that".

I want freedom, period - Determined.

Patience, and I think that quality has quite a bit of importance when undertaking any endeavor. At first the questions might arrive excrutiatingly slowly - it might taken ten hours for an aspiring writer to write a satisfactory sentence, but if they keep at it they'll eventually have their story. So... patience... and... well, it's kind of the cop out cookie cutter answer, but I think one really must love what they do. &#38; I know love has an absurd amount of different meanings - but I believe that with love comes all of the above, 100% determination, devotion, patience, etc. and the strength neccessary to charge all the way to the well with your head on fire.

Eh. I wrote this as if I were babbling. Otherwise the censor stops me.

How do we learn to Riddle? By loving riddling. &#38; listening to Willem helps. you obviously know some stuff.

:) stopping by the pub for a while. take care.

- Richard
