Curt-
Hello!

"Weighty reality", in this context, means exactly what it says; practical, tangible, and phenomenological.

Often times people of our culture use "metaphor" and "myth" as counterpoints to what they see as "reality". In an intact indigenous culture, "myth" means a MORE fully experienced realness of reality. In our culture, "reality" usually means shallow, immature, reductivist observations.

Hi Willem,

I'm confused here.

You wrote: "Much of Martin Prechtel’s writing goes to demonstrate the decidedly non-metaphorical side of indigenous Myth…it has weighty reality."

What does weighty reality mean?

Thank you,
