Okay. Makes sense now. I guess I missed the point due to my focus on the ostensible badness of the movie.

Another of the fears of civilization - anything alien. & as the traditions and stories which for so many generations worked to assist females to blossom forth into the fullness of their feminine potency fall to the wayside, replaced by the contagion of the media invastion : celebrity worship, cheap teevee thrills, glitzy magazines mongering vacuous 'tips' and vapid tales of submission to consumerism and a myriad of sterile constricting ideals - uh... as all that happens (and happens and happens) the Female itself becomes an alien entity.

I rencently asked this bloke (adopted Lakota [his badge of courage] - yet described by his gfry as 'full blooded english...') if he thought that Mother Earth would eventually become angry with humans for what they've done. & he said that no, she always forgives.

Richard-

"Your purpose remains ambigious. Care to comment?"

What better embodiment of the historical (and civilized) fear of the nature giants, the demonization of nature (the mother of all life), and the unconscious but all-too-visceral revelation of the life-creating power of human women (and hence, women's bodies), than a movie titled...

ATTACK OF THE 50ft WOMAN!

It seemed pretty straightforward to me.

I briefly considered a survey of all the "giant monster/monster plague" movies, like Night of the Lepus (giant killer rabbits), Swarm (giant swarms of killer bees), Godzilla (monsters a-go-go), the Beast from 20,000 Fathoms (giant sea monsters), King Kong (giant gorillas and dinosaurs), and on and on.

But I have to say, "Attack of the 50ft Woman" says it all.

Civilization fears forces bigger than itself. It fears what it cannot control.

Hence it fears Nature. Hence it fears women.

Even more pointedly: our culture lives in terror of the power of the Goddess.

Yes, the majority of females, fictional or otherwise, eventually do remind me of something.

>Sometimes Godzilla saves Tokyo, and sometimes Godzilla attacks Tokyo.

Sometimes the movie with the gigantic car crushing shrew makes the viewer feel as if they have just insufflated a hefty dose of melatonin whilst lounging in a rainy womblike coccon listening to the moonlight sonata with diminutive anvils tied to each eyelash, sometimes it arouses a sensation vaguely resembling that of a lashing across toes, toes both dainty and atypically receptive to tactile stimulation, with an overcooked and soggy noodle.

Have you seen that movie? It blows goats.

anyway. Thank you for sharing the enlightening picture. Your purpose remains ambigious. Care to comment?

At least you didn’t bore the reader.
