interesting theries. everything is so dificult to know i sometimes think i can only know my mind, and even that is slippery. nobody can take it away though. unless some zitty kid puts paint chips in my big mac... then part of me might go to the dram a bit earlier than hoped. unity before, unity at the end, and the imbetween is so chaotic. phantasmagoria indeed. wishful thinking? comforting ideas? whatever works. cool to find this your stuff is sweet.

if instead of static around you all night you heard the sounds outside, of living things other than yourself and your man-made world.

Yeah...

That just about made me jump up and squeal in joy

I squealed while writing it... :) Thanks for the 'thank you'!

I used to cram my bed up against the window and open it, especially when it rained, and sleep as close to it as possible when I wasn't allowed to sleep outside. I've actually been thinking a lot about nonhuman influences on dreaming and general story telling altogether, lately... and I wonder, if sleeping outside, especially somewhere with more wildlife intact, could change my dreams. I mean, if instead of static around you all night you heard the sounds outside, of living things other than yourself and your man-made world.

"The time called Dreamtime, Myth, and ‘the time when Animals and Humans still spoke the same language’ didn’t come first, it comes deepest."
^ That just about made me jump up and squeal in joy (repressed energy much?), I don't know exactly why, it helped connect something in my head that's been floating around a bit disconnected. Thank you for writing such wonderful things. Reading this made me happy.

I love that, wildeyes...as our body goes back to join the larger body, our dream goes back to the join the larger pool of dream.

I myself received a dream asking me to sleep outside. It did transform my dreaming life in some crazy ways! I sleep outside when I want to retrigger that vivid connection to dream. And also when I want to hear the mice squeaking in my compost bin.

Thanks for your story!

to say that the Dreamtime forms the ground of Waking experience makes perfect sense to me. while for some time i had imagined that death meant entering the void, it occurred to me recently that dying means entering the dream world. not in the sense of an afterlife, but in much the same way that we sink from waking experience every night... entering that primal world.

one night not long ago, i lay in bed moving closer and closer towards sleep. as i began to nod off, i felt like i was sinking into the mattress. i wonder now if changing the place i sleep affects dreaming. i have read of folks who will go to particular places and begin to have strange and vivid dreams. would my dreams change if i slept outside on the ground and sank into the earth instead of my mattress?

or, in other words: this is great stuff! thank you again.
