Wonderfully said and well considered Willem! I am heartened to see your appreciation for Finisia's work. Yes, she can be intense and hard for people to understand much of the time, but this doesn't mean that she or her story should be marginalized. I worked on her story because I think that the story of someone who is so ostracized from a society that is so deeply corrupt, is the story that we most need to hear now. Especially since it seems we tend to become more and more insulated in our self-affirming bubbles. Finisia has inspired me more than anyone on this earth to have courage and make the choice to turn the other way and be truly wild and free because we know that's what's right in our heart of hearts. Surely anyone who follows in her footsteps must find their own way and as such each of our ways look different from the other. Finisia would be the first to admit this. Yes, she plays the fool on facebook pretty much everyday and puts out a lot of intense confrontational words. That is how her spirit expresses the truth that she sees in a globalized culture that requires the genocide of all life but just wants to be happy and pretty in that ugliness. Don't let this turn you away from finding your own pathway to rewilding! Can we look in the mirror and become human in the realization that we are all part of this? Can we chose to go another way and give life to that which gives life to us? This remains to be seen but this is the only hope I have for humanity.

Willem- i was going to buy the book, but held off because i have such a hard time understanding Finisia, in a literal sense....her FB posts are sometimes a word salad with a side dressing of contempt.

i am surprised at the excerpt above...nothing like the FB posts, and totally readable. i am now leaning towards buying the book. like you, i don't have to agree with an author, i just have to be able to read them.....

Willem, I just came to CoMC with the intention of searching the archives for information about "that person who does the loop" that I read about quite a ways back, because I've been thinking about it for a few weeks now. Thanks!
